Current Surveys

Introduction

Institutional Surveys are used to guide institutional decision making, accreditation efforts, and strategic planning, and thus take priority over other campus survey initiatives. These surveys are conducted on a regular basis and administered to students across various colleges, programs, and units. The results are shared campus-wide and the findings are used by various campus committees, colleges, and units.

Student Surveys Inventory

NSSE: National Survey of Student Engagement

A survey mechanism used to measure the level of student participation at universities and colleges.
First Destination Survey

Collects information on the post-graduate outcomes of UIC bachelor’s degree graduates within six months of graduation.
Pre-Matriculation Inventory

The survey assesses incoming students' socio-emotional strengths, financial concerns, and connects students to campus resources.
Spark Check: Annual Health and Wellbeing Survey

To ensure leadership has an ongoing and comprehensive understanding of our campus’ health needs.
Healthy Minds Study

The survey is designed for campus leadership to better understand the needs of the campus and service utilization. Its goal is to enhance student mental health support, allow UIC to re-orient or expand services to better meet student needs.
Equity Dashboard Project

It assesses our ability to foster equity and inclusion to advance student achievement.
Fall Undergraduate Student Survey

The Fall Survey is administered to current undergraduate UIC students in the fall semester each year and has three components: 1) student information; 2) intervention questions; and 3) student learning outcomes assessment data.
Campus Sexual Misconduct Survey

The purpose of the Sexual Misconduct Campus Climate Survey is to provide information about the behaviors and perceptions that current students have related to the University.
UIC Library Survey

To identify students' needs and demonstrate how students’ library use contributes to their coursework and research.
UIC Student Academic Engagement Survey

The survey aims to explore undergraduate students’ academic engagement (e.g., frequency of using writing center, cultural center and library use), self-regulation, factors affecting academic engagement, and their own definition of academic success.
International Student Belonging & Satisfaction

Measure student satisfaction and sense of belonging for international students, evaluate findings, and make recommendations to University leadership to address any deficiencies.
Transportation and Mobility Survey

Administered by Office of Planning, Sustainability and Project Management biennially. Last administered Spring 2024.
Admit/Decline Survey

To collect prospect student impressions and their reasons for declining to attend UIC.
